Integrate Music Education with Elementary and Middle School

Choir is more than singing. It’s math and science. It’s historic and cultural context. It’s language arts, physical awareness and social-emotional intelligence.

Our boys thrive with an academic curriculum that combines the multidimensional principles of musicianship with intellectual curiosity, complex problem-solving and systemic thinking.

Discover Our “Best for Boys” Approach to Elementary and Middle School

We support boys to channel their energy into a force for excellence in both music and academic scholarship.

Our “Best for Boys” approach engages students with a learning environment that is active and stimulating —with opportunities for hands-on-learning, peer collaboration and out-of-classroom activities.

Some Schools Have a Choir. We Have a Choir School — Designed for Boys.

Why do families choose Pacific Boychoir Academy’s independant school for their boys grades 3-8?

R

Comprehensive Curriculum

Boys study History, Science, Mathematics, Literature, Art, Spanish, Latin and Physical Education — in addition to 2.5 hours of daily musical study.

R

Whole Brain Education

Music paired with academics invokes boys’ right-brain capacities for language processing, sensory awareness, mood and memory, and moral reasoning.

R

"Best for Boys" Active Learning

Immersive education suits the strengths and needs of boys — with opportunities for hands-on learning, peer collaboration, and out-of-classroom learning.

R

Small Class Sizes

We have a student-teacher ratio of 1:5 and classes are capped at 10 students. Our instructors can account for varied learning styles, and provide boys one-on-one attention.

R

High School Preparatory

Boys graduate from PBA well-prepared to enter public, private and boarding high schools in the Bay Area and beyond.

Our sons dive deeply into their academic subjects at PBA, sometimes using music history, lyrics and languages of the music they are singing to enrich their academic studies.

Of particular note, as part of English class, the middle school boys put on several performances of Shakepeare’s A Comedy of Errors that had the audience rolling in laughter at their astute interpretations and comic timing!

I love the way our teachers handle their class. They always keep us busy trying something new. You never have time to be bored.

Give Your Boy the Gift of Music & Opportunity at Pacific Boychoir Academy

Opportunites at PBA are available to every boy who is willing to put in the effort, regardless of previous musical experience or perceived talent. Scholarships and Financial Aid available.

PBA taught my son to pack his own bag— whether it’s his garment bag for a performance or suitcase for a weekend retreat. He has definitely developed more maturity and personal responsibility through choir.
